The Senate Judiciary Committee has started confirmation hearings for Pam Bondi, President Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney General. Bondi served as Florida's Attorney General from 2011 to 2019, was a member of Trump's defense team during his first impeachment trial, and currently works at the Trump-aligned America First Policy Institute. Her lobbying clients have included Amazon, GM, Uber, and Qatar. The senators are going to ask her questions about how committed she is to using the Justice Department in order to prosecute Trump's political opponents. On Fox News back in 2023, Bondi said, "The Department of Justice, the prosecutors will be prosecuted-the bad ones. The investigators will be investigated.
